Flyers recall Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Carsen Twarynski from Lehigh Valley

It just about goes without saying by now that the Flyers just cannot catch a break at this point. Adding to the slew of injuries and absences the Flyers are already dealing with, both Scott Laughton and Tyler Pitlick left Saturday’s game with injuries and didn’t return. It’s not certain how long they’ll miss, but that brought the Flyers down to 10 healthy forwards with them on this trip, and you know what that means? That’s right, gang. It’s call up time.

This time around, they’ve called up Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Carsen Twarynski from Lehigh Valley. They’ve had a somewhat up and down seasons with the Phantoms, with Aube-Kubel having recorded five goals and eight points in his first 26 games (including one to break his scoring drought just last night), and Twarynski registering two goals and three points in 12 games.

The Flyers play again tonight in Winnipeg, so it will be a quick turnaround for them after playing at home on Saturday, but hey, they were originally slated to play tonight in Hershey anyway. So, not quite the schedule they originally planned, but somehow still close. Either way, we’ll see what happens.
