NHL shares details on life in the bubble of the hub cities for return to play

The Flyers —and the rest of the NHL— are inching closer and closer to returning by the day, and as that happens more details emerge about the specifics that go along with it.

The league said they would share details of the life inside of the hub cities in Edmonton and Toronto —where the Flyers will made camp— on Thursday and news started to trickle out late in the evening.

Chris Johnston of Sportsnet was among those to share some of details inside of the hub cities ahead of the restart.

Johnston reported that every NHL coaching staff will have an office in a suite inside their respective hub arenas and that general managers would also have a suite.

As for the players, part of the NHL’s hub city plan includes access to a concierge service where they are able to get deliveries from pharmacies, grocery stores, and restaurants (insert Michael Scott joke about the concierge in Winnipeg here).

The Flyers will be staying in Hotel X, about 10 minutes away from the ScotiaBank Arena, along with the Bruins, Capitals, Lightning, and Penguins while the other seven teams will be at the Royal York. Should the Flyers make the conference finals, they would transition to the Edmonton bubble per the Athletic.

The NHL has also given a look at game presentations, which are set to change without fans in the building and among the changes being crowd noise provided by EA Sports as well as a five second broadcast delay.

No word on if beloved and world-renowned Flyers mascot Gritty will be making appearances.

Note that the Stanley Cup logo looks to be donning center ice for both hub cities, providing visual incentive of just what players will be chasing in the respective arenas as they play through the qualifying round and into the playoffs.

The NHL also shared that their social justice initiative will be built around the hashtag #WeSkateFor.
