Open Thread: Flyers scoreboard watching on Monday, April 15th

The Philadelphia Flyers have the night off, but us Flyers fans don’t! There are a few key matchups taking place on Monday night across the Eastern Conference.

All three games that have playoff implications for the Flyers begin at 7 p.m. ET tonight. Let’s take a quick look at how they impact the Flyers’ playoff chances.

Canadiens at Red Wings

The Red Wings have a home-and-home with the Canadiens to close out the season. If they earn three points, the Flyers are eliminated.

Predators at Penguins

The Penguins host the Predators before traveling to Long Island on Wednesday night. If they earn three points, the Flyers are eliminated unless the Penguins’ win is via a shootout.

Bruins at Capitals

This game ultimately does not matter as long as the Flyers beat the Capitals in regulation tomorrow. If the Capitals win tonight, the Flyers must beat them on Tuesday night in regulation (or overtime if the Capitals beat the Bruins in a shootout).
