Checking out the competition: Edmonton Oilers

The Flyers are in Edmonton tonight, aaalllll the way at 9PM here on the East Coast, and the Flyers will be looking to rebound after that huge embarrassing failure in Calgary the other night. Edmonton for their part will be on the second half of a back-to-back and will be continuing to try and improve under new coach Ken Hitchcock. You remember our old pal Ken, right? Hopefully the Flyers will come to play and we’ll have ourselves a game. We were joined by Patrick Olsen of The Copper & Blue to preview tonight’s game, and here’s what we talked about:

  • Life under Ken Hitchcock, who apparently still hates goals
  • The unadulterated fun of watching Connor McDavid night in and night out
  • The goalie situation in Edmonton and Hitch’s philosophies about goalie usage
  • The Flyers, and what an opposing fan base thinks when they see a Flyers game coming up on the schedule
  • A few fun questions from the Oilers fans for us/

Tonight’s game will air on NBC Sports Philly at 9PM, so have yourself a coffee and settle in for some Flyers After Dark.
