Submit your ballot for the BSH Summer 2019 Flyers Top 25 Under 25!

[Update: the poll is now closed to new entries. Thanks to all who participated and enjoy the 25 Under 25! Original post below.]

It is extremely The Offseason up in here. We are in the desert of hockey news, waiting desperately to see which RFAs will end contract stalemates and which old guys will be stuck taking one-year deals and PTOs and finding out via Twitter or Instagram which Flyer happens to be getting married this weekend. So let’s talk instead about something else — something we’re used to talking about at this time of the year.

Long-time readers will likely be familiar with our BSH Top 25 Under 25 series, in which we rank the top young talent in the Flyers’ organization. During the winter, we do a mid-season update looking at how players’ seasons have gone and what’s changed during the year, but the summer time is when we really do deeper dives on what’s going on in the system, take inventory on who’s here (including the team’s newest draftees), and can set expectations for the coming season and beyond.

And part of that involves input from you, the people. We recently started including a community ballot, wherein any reader of our site can submit a ballot. All of those are combined into one overall ranking, which is submitted alongside those of each of our writers. It’s your chance to give us your input, and to see how your opinions line up with — and vary from — ours.

With that, now is the time for you all to give us that input. Please use this link to drag and drop your top 25 Flyers prospects or players under the age of 25, based on their current value to the organization. How you choose to define that is up to you — NHL-readiness right now, long-term upside, trade value, etc.

Some quick notes and requests:

  • The survey technically allows you to put as many or as few players on your ballot as you like, but please submit exactly 25 players on your ballot, no more and no less. Ballots with fewer than 25 names will be considered incomplete and will be tossed out, while ones with more than 25 will be cut off after 25 in our final rankings.
  • Note that your top/best player should be ranked first, your second-best should be ranked second, and so on, as opposed to the other way around.
  • Only submit one ballot, and note that we reserve the right to throw out any ballots that we believe are obvious jokes or are otherwise thoroughly uninformed or detached from reality. (Yes, that’s completely up to our discretion/judgment.)
  • Submit your ballot by 11:59 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 3./

If you have any questions please let us know in the comments, or send them to me via Twitter or e-mail (kurt.r.bsh@gmail.com). Have fun out there, kids.

(Ed. note: My apologies that this is out later than usual and that the timeframe is shorter than it has been in versions past. The site we used to use to do the surveys crapped out on us and we had to find a new one. Thank you all for your patience.)
