Submit your rankings for our Flyers Top 25 Under 25!

The last time we did an update to our periodical, often-twice-a-year-but-sometimes-less Philadelphia Flyers Top 25 Under 25 series here at BSH, it was in March of 2020, when the NHL had just hit pause on its regular season due to COVID and we thought hockey was going to be back pretty soon and things would be normal before we knew it. And that’s exactly what happened!

(/does the thing where you put your finger to your ear to pretend you’re getting an important update on an earpiece)

Ah. I’m hearing that that’s not actually what happened. I hate it here.

Anywho! It’s been so long since we last did this that the Flyers have brought on not one, but two draft classes since then. Nine of the players in the Top 25 the last time around are no longer eligible to be voted for, for reasons ranging from having aged out to being traded to being exiled from the team to Pittsburgh because apparently everybody hated him. (We’re not naming names here, but Mark Friedman knows who he is.) And then last season, as weird as it was for the NHL, was even weirder for most other leagues, most of which had from similarly restricted and shortened seasons at best and no season at all at worst.

So as these players, by and large, prepare for what should be the closest thing to a normal hockey season they’ve had in three years, now’s as good a time as any to take stock of who’s around and what we’re expecting of them. And, as always, we’d like your help. The BSH community always provides one vote in our 25 Under 25, and here’s your chance to do so in this year’s. You can fill out the survey at this link (you’ll see it again at the bottom of this post in big letters), ranking the Flyers’ top young talent by whatever you want to use to determine their worth.

Some notes and reminders as you fill this out:

  • Please rank exactly 25 players — we will not be able to accept any ballots with fewer than 25 selections, and any with more than 25 will be ignored after the 25th selection.
  • Remember: your top-ranked player should be ranked #1, your second-ranked player #2, and so on down the line, not the other way around.
  • We reserve the right to toss ballots from the final count that are incomplete, obvious jokes, or are generally detached from reality, and yes, that is completely our decision to make.
  • Please only vote once./

Ballots will need to be submitted by Tuesday, September 7 at 11:59 p.m. ET. We will roll out the series over the two full weeks that follow.

Thanks for reading and participating, and enjoy!
