Photo Gallery: Flyers vs Blue Jackets

The Philadelphia Flyers were looking to sweep their pre-Christmas homestand as they hosted the Blue Jackets on Saturday afternoon.

Carter Hart got the start in net and was looking to stay perfect. The Flyers were aggressive in the first period and got out to a good start, but we’re outmatched in the second, where the Blue Jackets scored three-unanswered goals to head into the third with a two-goal lead. James van Riemsdyk would score late in the third to cut it to a one-score game, but Sergei Bobrovsky stood tall.

The Flyers lost 4-3, but another young player had a milestone moment as Phil Varone picked up his first NHL goal, a rebound in front. The Flyers will get right back at it on Sunday night against the New York Rangers looking to go into the holiday on a high note.

Our photographer Heather Barry was there to capture the action Saturday afternoon with fan favorite shots of Santa Gritty, Carter Hart, Travis Konecny, Claude Giroux, and more!
