Pittsburgh: the season finale

Joel Farabee fought Mark Friedman and won.

Shayne Gostisbehere did something dirty after Friedman scored an empty net goal, and the former Flyers defenseman got right up, so it was kinda funny.

Sean Couturier shot a puck off Jeff Carter to score a goal, and that’s also kinda funny.

Those are basically all the highlights from the Philadelphia Flyers’ 7-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night, closing out the Keystone State Series for the season.

In 53 games this season, there have been 7+ total goals 32 times. That’s 60% of the time, minimum, Philly games hit the over. I hope you’ve been betting that all year. It’s the only thing that has kept me sane.

But, in allowing seven tallies to the Pens, this game accounted for the 11th time the Flyers have allowed at least 6 goals, and the ninth time the orange and black have lost by at least four goals.

Of course, Philly’s 7-2 win on Monday night was the Flyers first victory by a four-goal margin this season. Ten games decided by four or more goals. 1-9. That’s really something.

Anyway, it’s almost over, and so too are the postgames.
