Shayne Gostisbehere injury update: Ghost won’t play vs. Bruins, still day-to-day

Shayne Gostisbehere will not play on Wednesday night against the Boston Bruins, the Flyers announced after practice today. He’s still considered day-to-day.

Ghost came out of last Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Wild with a lower-body injury — thought to be a knee or a groin issue. He missed Saturday afternoon’s game against the New York Islanders, a 4-0 Flyers win, and this will be the second game he’ll miss.

It’s probably a good thing he’s sitting out again. No reason to rush him back and risk re-injury. Ghost skated on his own before practice yesterday and today, but he hasn’t taken part in a full team practice yet. The Flyers have two more full days off after the game against Boston, as they aren’t back on the ice until this coming Saturday against the Rangers.
