It is extremely July out here, folks. The hockey news cycle is in hibernation, and it’s unlikely that the Flyers will be making any moves of real consequence between now and at least Labor Day. So it’s about time we find some things to talk about ourselves.
If you’ve been here for a while, you’re likely familiar with our Flyers Top 25 Under 25 series, in which we rank every player under organizational control under the age of 25 based on their value to the organization. We do a shortened version during the season (here’s the most recent version from this past January) and a fuller, more in-depth version during the offseason. With August near, it’s time for us to get ready for the summer version.
And with the 25 Under 25 drawing near, it’s time to get input from you, the people. Two summers ago, we started including a Community Ballot, where anyone reading the site who felt like it could submit their own 25 Under 25 ranking. We’d take all of those ballots and combine them into one composite ranking, which would then go up alongside all of our ballots and count as one vote on the panel.
With the series slated to start on August 1, it’s about time to start getting everyone’s input again. So! Please use this link (hopefully this will be easier than the Google Form we’ve used in the past to do this) to drag and drop your top 25 Flyers prospects or players under the age of 25, based on their current value to the organization. How you choose to define that is up to you — NHL-readiness right now, long-term upside, trade value, etc.
Some quick notes:
- The survey technically allows you to put as many or as few players on your ballot as you like, but please submit exactly 25 players on your ballot, no more and no less. Ballots with fewer than 25 names will be tossed out, while ones with more than 25 will be cut off after 25.
- Only submit one ballot, and note that we reserve the right to throw out any ballots that we believe are obvious joke ballots.
- Submit your ballot by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, July 27. /
