The Two O’Clock Number

44 — the number of days until the 2011 NHL Draft in St. Paul, Minnesota, an event in which we have literally no real interest in thanks to the Flyers inability to hold onto draft picks.

Okay, so that’s not totally fair. The Flyers have five picks in this year’s draft. The first is in the fourth-round. Hey, we even have TWO fourth-round picks! Exciting! Full details on those picks in our Draft Pick Tracker.

CORRECTION: The Flyers, to the best of our knowledge, also hold a third-round pick in the draft. It was conditional in the Chris Pronger trade, and since the Flyers didn’t win the Cup in 2010, they keep the pick. BUT, they traded that pick for Kris Versteeg. Thankfully, they have Pittsburgh’s third round pick, though, which they acquired for Dan Hamhuis at last year’s draft.
