Thursday Morning Fly By: Can’t win them all

*Like a solid third of the Flyers’ lineup is out and the Avalanche are an extremely good hockey team. Sometimes you see the loss coming, you know? Anyhoo, RECAP!

*So David Kase got to make his NHL debut last night. That’s pretty neat. Not sure a lot of people saw him getting the nod. [BSH]

*And why was he playing? Yet another injury! Oskar Lindblom was out last night. Enough already, hockey gods. [Inquirer]

*The team might be ravaged by injury at the moment, but that’s fleeting. Try to remember how fun this team has been. Fun AND good, as Charlie tells us in his latest observations. [The Athletic]

*Nolan Patrick may be out of the lineup, but he certainly hasn’t been without the support of his teammates. Which is just really, really nice to see. [NBC Sports Philly]

*31 Thoughts, on the latest NHL scandal, the problems in Toronto, and there’s even a Flyers-related anecdote. [Sportsnet]

*DGB asks the question that’s been burning for way too long now: could a team of NHL brothers beat a team of NHL fathers and sons? [The Athletic]

*Somehow, Christmas is only two weeks away, which makes this a good time for Santa to make an NHL nice and naughty list. [CBC]

*And finally… new Flyperbole! Enjoy, friends. [BSH]
