Thursday Morning Fly By: It’s go time!

*After what feels like a million years, the Flyers will be back on the ice tonight to take on the Rangers. Important to remember that they’re not actually ready to come back, the league is forcing them. [Inquirer]

*And as a result, the lines we’ll see tonight will be… a little wackadoo. To say the least.

*Wackiness aside, we’ve got a few things we are expecting to see in these next few games. [BSH]

*Kevin Hayes has been doing his best to keep the spirits high during all of this. You really cannot discount how important he’s been in the locker room since coming to Philly. [Inquirer]

*While the team and players have given us some information about this whole Covid stoppage in drips and drabs over the last couple of weeks, we’ve never really gotten a full picture of how this went down. Until now! [NBC Sports Philly]

*One note heading into tonights game: the Rangers will be without Jacob Trouba. [Blueshirt Banter]

*While we are talking defenders, what even is defense in today’s NHL? Brad took a dive in. With visual aides. [BSH]

*This weekend’s game in Tahoe promises to be, if nothing else, a real spectacle. And if it goes well, we could see more of this kind of thing in the future. [ProHockeyTalk]

*And while we’re talking Tahoe, here’s what to expect from the broadcast. [The Athletic]

*And finally, after more than a few comments along the lines of “we’ve followed all the rules, how did this happen?” coming from the Flyers this week, the absurdity of the league’s refusal to accept that these guys are giving it to each other during games has reached new levels of absurd. [USA Today]
