Thursday Morning Fly By: Looks like we made it

*Folks it is August 31 which means that we have finally made it to the end of this infernally long, boring, all-quiet-on-the-hockey-front month. Does that mean things will start happening imminently? Probably not. But we’re closer to The Good Stuff. Speaking of good stuff, I wouldn’t say you guys are confident in the Flyers’ front office, per se, but you’re way more confident now than you were last year. Progress! [The Athletic]

*We’ve made it to another new guy on the 25U25, with the funly-named Helge Grans clocking in at number 16. [BSH]

*We’ve got a little more intel on the newly-formed women’s hockey league today. [Inquirer]

*The Toronto Maple Leafs, who fired just about everyone except their coach, have given that coach an extension. It’s fascinating to me. How can he play no part in their underperformance in the playoffs? Anyhoo. [TSN]

*And finally, and this may shock you, but not a single Flyer is projected to be a part of Team Canada for the next World Cup. This does not shock you. [Sportsnet]
