Thursday Morning Fly By: Panic at the discourse

*Another big game tonight for the boys! This time its the Hurricanes, who are absolutely rolling right now. Here’s what their last game looked like. [Canes Country]

*Will Sean Couturier play? Who knows! But I’m sure everyone will continue to be super normal about it. Some will say that, given the outcome of the Leafs game, the scratch worked. [PHLY]

*One thing about that Leafs game that seemed a little more certain is that Sam Ersson was able to shake off whatever was ailing him his last few games. Got his groove back, if you will. [Inquirer]

*Another funny thing about that Leafs game is that, naturally, losing a game to the Flyers sent Leafs Universe into a tailspin. [Sportsnet]

*Right, so back to Sean Couturier. We don’t actually know what John Tortorella thinks about it or the result because he refuses to answer any questions about it. [BSH]

*The Flyers definitely need to focus on their own game down the stretch, but there’s no denying the fact that they are checking those standings just as much as we are. [Inquirer]

*The Arizona Coyotes, who still don’t have an arena and probably never will, won’t be asked to move. Because nothing will force Gary to take this L. NOTHING! [ESPN]

*And finally, for hockey fans of a certain age, Chris Simon was a force your team had to reckon with any time they played his team. Hearing he died this week from suicide that his family attributes to CTE was crushing, as someone who fondly remembers late 90s NHL hockey. It’s hard to enjoy the fights anymore, you know? The league owes these players more than they’ve been given. [TSN]
