Thursday Morning Fly By: Someone wrap Coots in bubble wrap

*You’ve all heard the news already, but Sean Couturier is hurt again, and that is not great news. [BSH]

*In case you missed it, it was Flyers day on NHL dot com yesterday which means we got a lot of content, which, on August 22, was a very nice thing. First up, a season preview! [NHL.com]

*They also tackled the Wayne Simmonds Question, among other things. [NHL.com]

*Diving into the numbers proved interesting, as the Flyers top players were among the best in the NHL last season AND now we’ve got JVR added into that mix. [NHL.com]

*If you’re planning to draft some Flyers in for your fantasy hockey team this year, this is for you. [NHL.com]

*And finally, a look at our top prospects, in which AGM Chris Pryor throws a cold bucket of ice water on any Morgan Frost hopes and dreams you may have had for this season. (I know I’m supposed to just be linking things, but this comment from Pryor really pissed me off and I have some Things to say. Entering camp with these kinds of pre-decided decisions is a bullshit way to do it. If Morgan Frost comes into camp and blows it up, HE SHOULD MAKE THE TEAM. MAKE A TEAM OF YOUR BEST PLAYERS. Stop trying to “fill roles” or whatever bullshit you’re trying to do. If he doesn’t need another goddamned year playing against children then why waste it? It’s so stupid. Okay that’s all.) [NHL.com]

*Anyhoo, arguably one of the most promising prospects we’ve got is Oskar Lindblom, who proved last season that he can hang in the NHL and cracked the top ten of our 25 Under 25. [BSH]

*It was also Flyers day at ProHockeyTalk! So much Flyers content, it’s wild. They took a look at the organization overall; expectations, prospects, etc. [ProHockeyTalk]

*They seem to think that if any Flyers player is going to feel the pressure to perform next season, it’ll be the newest addition to the team. [ProHockeyTalk]

*And they seem to think that Travis Konecny will be the one to watch as far as building on a strong performance last season. [ProHockeyTalk]

*They also asked three questions that the Flyers need to answer heading into the season. [ProHockeyTalk]

*Speaking of strong seasons, TK wasn’t the only guy to have one last year. In fact, we’d say five guys had breakthrough moments last season worth looking back on. [BSH]

*We’ve got a date for the Flyers’ Wives Carnival, so you can go ahead and mark your calendar if this is a thing you are into. [Flyers]

*And finally…Erik Karlsson to….Vancouver? Whaaaaaaat… [Sportsnet]
