Thursday Morning Fly By: Surging

*Well that was a pretty dang solid hockey game from your boys, huh? Hart looking good. Tippett staying hot… it’s fun! RECAP!

*So we got Carter Hart back last night (he had the poops), and before the game John Tortorella had some praise to heap on surprisingly competent defenseman Louie Belpedio. [Inquirer]

*Tortorella also wanted us to know that, even when vets begin to return from injury, he’s still going to be prioritizing The Kids. Might believe it when I see it. [BSH]

*And whomst might be on their way back to the lineup, you ask? The real game changers, that’s who. [Inquirer]

*Charlie takes a look at who, through these first 15 or so games, has made a good case that they should be a part of the future of this hockey team. [PHLY+]

*A thing that is cool is that you can look around the NHL right now and identify quite a few absolute locks for the Hockey Hall of Fame still playing. [ESPN+]

*DGB looks at a new thing he invented call “The Red Arrow Index”, which measures how many red arrows appear on your favorite team’s CapFriendly page. What, exactly, does it mean? As usual he makes it up as he goes along which is why his writing is so delightful. [The Athletic]

*And finally, sometimes we forget just how dangerous a game hockey is. Which is why it is imperative that the league take measures to protect its players as much as possible. [MSNBC]
