The Philadelphia Flyers have a lot of young, exciting talent rising through the ranks. While there’s been a lot of focus on the defense, though, it’s impossible to forget about Travis Konecny.
For Konecny, 19, it’s either the OHL or NHL for him. His general manager with the Sarnia Sting, Nick Sinclair, believes he’ll be back in Sarnia – and thinks he has the potential to dominate like nobody else this season.

Konecny was traded to the Sting mid-season last year. After joining Sarnia, he scored 23 goals and 56 points over just 31 games, placing second in team scoring. The only guy above him? Pavel Zacha, who only scored eight more points over an additional 20 games.
Konecny scored 101 points over 60 games in all last year – one of just eight OHLers to eclipse the 100 point mark. He was tied for seventh in points per game.
So Sinclair might just be on to something here.
That is, if Konecny even plays in the CHL at all this year – something that certainly isn’t a foregone conclusion. Not if Konecny has anything to say about it.
