The Philadelphia Flyers opened their home schedule with a matchup against the San Jose Sharks Tuesday night. It started out as a night to remember with the grand entrance of Gritty, who came down from the rafters like Miley Cyrus. Other than that, the Flyers were unable to muster up much positives on the evening. San Jose erupted for eight goals, putting a hurting on the Flyers and on the home crowd. They return to the ice Wednesday night against the Ottawa Senators.
