Wednesday Fly By: Somebody gets to play hockey

*Matvei Michkov, Philadelphia Flyers prospect wonderkid, has been left out of the lineup for the first two games of the KHL season. Due to him being a young player with such capability and potential, it has drawn ire from all over the hockey world. Unfortunately, it’s not an unfamiliar thing, a teenaged Russian player getting next to no minutes in the KHL, so how does a prospect develop over there? [Sportsnet]

*Well, since this is the only hockey that is going on right now, we’re waiting with bated breath and according to some sources that we have never heard of, Michkov will be playing in the next game. [Twitter]

*We’re not done talking about the Flyers’ draft class of 2023, because next up on our Top 25 Under 25 series is defenseman Oliver Bonk, who the team selected in the first round just a couple months ago. [BSH]

*There is an important note on the most recent BSH Radio, on the future of the podcast and all.

*Elsewhere, there are still somehow 10 unrestricted free agents who could contribute to an NHL team this season. [The Hockey News]

*Connor Bedard takes another step towards making his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks. Booooooo! [Yahoo Sports]
