Wednesday Morning Fly By: Halloween fright fest!

*The Flyers played a game and it may or may not have gone well; who can even say, we were all sleeping! But the results may have been terrrrrrifying! (They were, for the Ducks, at least.) Recap!

*So Nic Aube-Kubel got his time to shine last night. What do you think, did switching out a few bottom-sixers make a bit of difference to how the team performed? [Philly.com]

*So about that whole “bottom six” thing…this team, its coaches and GM, specifically, are obsessed with the idea of “roles”. All hockey players must fit neatly into the boxes they’ve laid out or they can’t be on the roster. The roles will kill us all. [BSH]

*There doesn’t seem to be any indication that any of this will change anytime soon, however. [BSH]

*Anyhoo, the folks over at NBC Sports have hired a new hockey guy and he’s local AND he played the game! Pretty neat. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Remember Mike Knuble??? That was a fun time. These pieces where we look back at old, enjoyable Flyers teams really are a thing we need right now, I think. Remind us why we love them and stuff. [BSH]

*If you subscribe, this piece on how a lot of teams (not all the teams, not ours!) have improved their power play strategies and how having a man advantage is more deadly now than it has ever been is a very interesting read. [The Athletic]

*And finally, on this week’s BSH Radio, the gang has a frank and open discussion about Ron Hextall. And all the other bad things. Enjoy. [BSH]
