*The season has technically begun, but for us, dear readers, this is our last day of freedom. Tomorrow begins the 7-9 (lol it’ll be seven) month slog through every singe Flyers’ game. Godspeed to us all. Anyhoo, GMDB spoke a bit about Rasmus Ristolainen’s injury and a few more other things yesterday. [Inquirer]

*With Risto out it’s game on for the Kids on defense. Just how young can this defense get this season? [BSH]

*Well, uh… maybe not that young. Not immediately, anyway. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Charlie takes a dive into what will need to happen for all of these Kids that made the roster to actually make it to the ice. [PHLY]

*More predictions! About the Flyers but also about everybody else! [Inquirer]

*And more predictions again! Winners, losers, awards… we’ve got everything in this one. [ESPN]

*Yesterday marked the triumphant return of the BSH Prospect Report! Maddie will be filling our subscribers in on everything happening with The Kids in the Flyers’ system through the end of the season. It’s a great handy little check-in on how the prospects are faring, if you’re into that kind of thing. [BSH]

*We’ve got 32 Thoughts. [Sportsnet]

*We all know NHL GMs love to copy each other’s best (and sometimes worst!) moves and ideas. So what’s everyone learning from the reigning Stanley Cup champs? [The Athletic]

*It’s looking like next year our long multi-national nightmare will be over and the salary cap will start going up again. [TSN]

*On a sad note, Barry Melrose is fighting Parkinson’s. Here’s hoping Barry will have many happy years with his family now that he’s left the hockey world. [NHL.com]

*If you’re looking for a calendar to hang in your office in 2024, look no further. [Inquirer]

*And finally, a brand new Flyperbole! The boys preview the Flyers season while watching the Phillies and hilarity ensues. [BSH]
