A history of Michael Del Zotto and his saxophone

Naturally, hockey players have interests outside of hockey. It’s difficult to eat, breathe, and sleep just one thing; especially when that one thing is, ultimately, your job. Sure, it’s fun – but people tend to need more.

Something else Michael Del Zotto is interested in? The saxophone – which, now that his wrist has healed, he can play again. Give him a listen!

4 months off the sax. Felt nice to play again. Preparing for my solo with @dzekoandtorres. #quickmitts

Not bad with four months off, especially since it’s only been about a year since he first showed us his sax.

A couple of months later, we got a little more:

With the season starting back up, Del Zotto understandably went quiet for a while – at least until this offering, which came just a month before he injured his wrist, and had to put the sax on the shelf for four months.

Which brings us to his most recent offering: a return to music that’s also special because it’s the first time he’s actually filming himself playing, rather than a black screen or a spot on the floor.

And it’s awesome. Glad you’re back, MDZ.
