BSH Radio reacts following a 4-3 shootout loss to Ottawa

It was just one of those games for the Philadelphia Flyers. Despite outplaying the Ottawa Senators for the majority of the contest, a few key turnovers, defensive zone breakdowns and shoddy goaltending by rookie netminder Alex Lyon lead to two-goal deficits after each of the first two periods.

But to their credit, the Flyers battled back to force overtime, finally tying the game with less than three seconds left on a savvy play by Nolan Patrick to gather the puck out of traffic and filter a shot through to the back of the net for the biggest goal of his young career.

Travis Konecny pitched in with three assists (and inexplicably didn’t see his number called during the six-turn shootout), and Michal Neuvirth stopped all six of the shots he faced coming in relief to start the third period through overtime, then turned away five of six breakaway attempts before giving way on a beautiful move by Mike Hoffman to end the game.

Check out the BSH Radio Facebook Live postgame video with Bill, who may be a little preoccupied with the Birds, but still made an effort, which is all we can ask, really.
