AHL playoffs 2017: How to watch Phantoms vs. Bears on TV, live streaming and in person

The 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs kick off this week, and with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms qualifying for the first time since they were called the Philadelphia Phantoms in 2009, we’re all a bit excited.

But how can you actually watch these games? There are a few different ways, of course. Let’s get you caught up on the option.s

On television

If you’re in the Lehigh Valley, you likely already know that Service Electric Channel 2 broadcasts all Phantoms home games. That will continue in the postseason.

In Philadelphia, we’re unsure if games will be broadcasted locally. There’s always a chance that CSN Philly / The Comcast Network picks up the rights to broadcast games, but nothing has been announced as of yet. We have a week for that announcement to be made, however, so we will update if we hear back.

Unfortunately, we’re operating under the assumption that games at the Giant Center in Hershey during the first round will not be televised. Again, we will update if we learn otherwise.

Live streaming

Live streams of all AHL playoff games are available via AHL Live for $349.99. That package gets you access to every game in the postseason

For streams of Phantoms games only — or any single team, for that matter — you can pay $44.99 via AHL Live. That will get you access to every Phantoms game for as long as they are in the postseason in the first two rounds of the postseason. The final two rounds, should it come to that, will likely be shown on local television.

There are no other live streaming options unless breaking the law is your cup of tea.

Radio

Bob Rotruck has the call on all Phantoms games, home or away. The live stream can be found here, or on the TuneIn Radio app by searching “Phantoms Radio 24/7.”

The Phantoms also have an excellent app called “Phantoms Hockey 365”, available for download in the App Store and whatever the heck the App Store is called on Android phones. Games are available for streaming through the app.

In person

For games in Allentown, tickets start at $11.50 and go up to $49.50 for club seats. Below is the seating chart, and here’s where you can purchase tickets.

For games in Hershey at the Giant Center — which, from the Wells Fargo Center is only an extra 25 miles further than Allentown — tickets start a $21 for the worst seats in the house and rise to $45 for club level. They go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. More details can be found here.

Below is the full Phantoms vs. Bears schedule for the Atlantic Division Semifinals. The full AHL postseason schedule can be found here.
