Those hoping the Philadelphia Flyers would end their losing streak Saturday afternoon were horribly disappointed. The Flyers were dismantled by the Boston Bruins at Wells Fargo Center, losing by a score of 6-2 on the day of Mark Recchi\'s Hall of Fame induction ceremony. They enter the All-Star break having lost each of their last five contests while allowing 5.4 goals per game over that span. Clearly, this team needs some time away from the rink. The Basics First period: 14:09 — Pastrnak (Zacha, McAvoy), 15:46 — McAvoy (Zacha), 16:47 — Heinen (Carlo), 18:23 — Pastrnak (unassisted) Second period: 1:15 — van Riemsdyk (Pastrnak, Lindholm), 15:23 — Foerster (Sanheim) Third period: 11:24 — Foerster (Couturier, Lycksell), 14:45 — Coyle (Frederic, van Riemsdyk) SOG: 37 (PHI), 28 (BOS) Takeaways Pasta gonna Pasta David Pastrnak is a nightmare for any NHL team, but none more so than the Flyers. Pastrnak went off for two goals and an assist Saturday afternoon. Both of his goals came in the first period. He broke the ice with a filthy shot through the legs of Travis Sanheim, then cleaned up a rebound in front of Sam Ersson to give the Bruins a 4-0 lead going into the first intermission. Pastrnak has now logged a whopping 26 goals and 42 points in 29 career games against the Flyers. He\'s scored more goals against the Flyers than any other team in the NHL. Petersen has entered the chat Following their miserable first period, the Flyers put Sam Ersson out of his misery by making a goalie swap. Taking over in net was Cal Petersen, who was called up from Lehigh Valley after Carter Hart announced his indefinite leave of absence. Petersen immediately allowed a goal — scored by former Flyer James van Riemsdyk — just 1:15 into the middle frame. He finished the day with 12 saves on 14 shots against. Petersen, once considered the heir apparent to Jonathan Quick during his days with the Los Angeles Kings, has struggled mightily the last few seasons. He has not impressed during his time with Lehigh Valley this season, but given the absence of Hart, he\'s likely to see a lot more action in the NHL for the foreseeable future. Foerster did some stuff It appeared the Flyers were on track to suffer their second straight shutout after allowing four goals in the game\'s first 20 minutes. Tyson Foerster, however, had other ideas. Late in the middle frame, Foerster pulled off a nice move to get around Brandon Carlo and beat Linus Ullmark, reducing the Boston lead to four goals. He netted another marker in the third period, giving him his second multi-goal performance of the season. Of course, the Flyers had no chance of making a comeback at that point of the tilt, but it was encouraging to see one of their young players getting involved offensively. https://twitter.com/NHLFlyers/status/1751341088571261177
