Tonight’s the night, folks! The NHL Draft Lottery is set to take place this evening at 6:30 on ESPN and ESPN+.
As it stands, the Flyers are most likely to pick at 12th overall, based on their finishing position in the standings, but they could move up as high as second overall in this lottery. If you’d like a lengthier breakdown on their odds, and the results of running the Tankathon simulation [redacted] times, you can dig into that here.
Now, their chances of moving all the way up to second overall are small, to say the least, but for it to happen — it goes without saying — would be huge for the organization. We talked a bit about it yesterday, but to add a player the caliber of those in the top-five of this year’s class would be a big boost to the prospect pool, and a quick way to further expedite the rebuild, after the Flyers lucked into Matvei Michkov last year. We’ll see how much luck they’ve managed to hold onto tonight though.
Stick around, chat in the comments while we all wait to see how this thing pans out for the Flyers (and hopefully don’t wind up too disappointed).
