  • Seen on TV locally and nationally in the US via NBC (or via stream on the NBC Sports App)
  • Heard on radio locally via 97.5 The Fanatic

The Flyers played a bit coy on Saturday regarding the status of one Ivan Provorov, who took a tumble into the boards late in Friday’s win and headed to the locker room after said tumble. It is hard to imagine him not playing in this game, so we’ll leave the defensive lineup as it was for Game 5.

Up front, it remains to be seen whether Sean Couturier will still be limited to the point where the Flyers aren’t comfortable giving him his usual amount of responsibility (he played around 16 minutes of ice time on Friday after averaging nearly 25 minutes across Games 1-3). If he is, then Valtteri Filppula will likely remain in the first-line center spot after a surprisingly strong performance there on Friday; if not, Couturier should move back up into that spot, while Filppula and Nolan Patrick will man the second- and third-line center positions in some order. In the meantime, the lines below are the same ones from Game 5.

For Pittsburgh, it sounds as if Patric Hornqvist is expected to return to the Pittsburgh lineup after missing the last two games of the series. The big question for Pittsburgh is now the status of Evgeni Malkin, who did not skate with the team on Saturday. He left Friday’s game in the first period after unsuccessfully trying to trip up Jori Lehtera from behind and falling awkwardly as a result, but came back for the second period and played a normal day’s work from there. Our guess for now is that he’ll play, but that’s something for us to keep our eyes on.
