It was a tough weekend

The Philadelphia Flyers may have not been expected to win yesterday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets, but nobody was expecting a 7-3 dismantling. The news surrounding Oskar Lindblom’s cancer diagnosis and a lot of players out due to injury were obstacles the team faced heading into the game. Things didn’t get any easier after Joel Farabee’s ill-advised hit on Mathieu Perreault resulted in a major penalty that helped the Jets accrue four goals in a span of 4:17 late in the second period. In the postgame reaction to this loss we discussed how the game unfolded as well as:

  • Do the Flyers need to make a trade with all the injuries?
  • What are the Flyers’ options if they look at adding somebody from outside the organization?
  • Farabee’s hit and if he’ll see additional punishment for it.
  • The team’s upcoming schedule./
