Monday Morning Fly By: And away we go

*We’ve got a couple of days off before the Flyers head out West, and after a packed November a multi-day break feels luxurious. Here’s what we learned from Saturday’s final home game for a bit. [BSH]

*The Flyers may have won that game, but they lost Travis Konecny. We should get some kind of update on his injury from the team today. [Inquirer]

*It was a pretty chippy game, and after a really cheap crosscheck on Scott Laughton at the end of the game, Brady Tkachuk was fined the max by the league. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Speaking of Laughton, he had a hell of a game. [Courier-Post]

*It was another really solid game from Shayne Gostisbehere as well, as he continues to trend upwards from the rock bottom he hit earlier in the season. [Inquirer]

*Joel Farabee continues to try and find his role on this team. [Courier-Post]

*Despite the team’s winning ways, the first period continues to be a problem for the Flyers this season. [BSH]

*It’s way too early to start talking about awards, but turns out that Alain Vigneault may be an early favorite for the Jack Adams. [CBC]

*Alex Ovechkin says he’ll retired right after breaking Gretzky’s record. Which is absolutely going to happen. [Yahoo Sports Canada]

*And finally, kill a little time this Monday with an interesting long read on hockey’s equipment guru. [Sportsnet]
