Travis Konecny will be out indefinitely with a concussion

After receiving a big hit from Mark Borowiecki in Saturday’s game vs. Ottawa, Flyers forward and leading goal scorer Travis Konecny will be out indefinitely with a concussion. This was everyone’s fear after the hit, especially when it took him a bit to get back on his feet, and eventually would not return to the game.

Konecny is in the middle of a breakout season with the Flyers, already at 28 points on the season in just 30 games. He’s been great for the team this season and has benefited greatly from playing alongside Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier. But now, the Flyers’ leading scorer will be out of the lineup, just as it appeared Alain Vigneault had his lines figured out.

Not only does this hurt the Flyers from a skill standpoint, Konecny is notably one of the more annoying Flyers to play against, and is a nightmare on the forecheck. This is a huge loss for a team looking to keep their hot start going.
