Monday Morning Fly By: Draft week!

*The week of the draft is finally upon us and that means we might finally have some action in the NHL in the next few days. In the meantime, let’s continue with our series of profiles of some of the lesser-known players that will likely find themselves on an NHL team this weekend. [BSH]

*And speaking of NHL action, we got a good old fashioned one-for-one trade this weekend, with the Habs sending Alex Galchenyuk to Arizona for Max Domi. The Habs fans, they’re not thrilled. [Habs Eyes On The Prize]

*Anyhoo, back to us. It is still too early to really judge how good of an NHL general manager Ron Hextall has been overall, but one place he really excels is in drafting. [Philly.com]

*Our community draft rankings continue with #20, the fun-ly named Dominik Bokk. [BSH]

*If the Flyers decide to draft a defenseman, Rasmus Sandin might be one to think about. Lots of Rasmuses in this draft, huh? [NBC Sports Philly]

*On the trade Hextall made at last year’s draft and what it reveals about his strategy when it comes to making his selections. [Philly.com]

*In case you missed it, the Flyers released their full preseason schedule on Friday. [BSH]

*And finally, after the draft we have free agency. Which could be fun, in theory, but NHL GMs are boring and kind of stupid. With that said, DGB attempts to find a solution to the NHL’s broken offer sheet system. Which no one ever even uses anymore. [Sportsnet]
