It’s not every day you hear a 60-year-old man talk about wanting to kidnap a teenager and put him in a bathroom. And normally, when you hear that, alarm bells go off and you’re calling the police or something.
No need for that in this case, though – it’s just Paul Holmgren, and he’s only talking about Dylan Larkin.

He’s saying these things because he’s actually kind of in position to do so – Larkin is at the USA Hockey press conference announcing that Philadelphia is hosting the All-American Prospects Game this year.
He’s also saying these things because, well, playoffs. You see, in case you were unaware, the Philadelphia Flyers are hosting the Detroit Red Wings tonight, and it’s supposed to be a very big game. The Wings are up three points on the Flyers for the final wild card spot in the East, but the Flyers have two games in hand.
This is a four point game. And as it so happens, Larkin, who has 20 goals and 40 points this season, is the Wings’ second-highest scorer.
So him not being on the ice would be nice. After all, if the Flyers have to be without their own second-highest scorer in Jakub Voracek… Well, what’s a little kidnapping in the midst of a playoff race?
