Should the Flyers re-sign Nick Seeler?

We are in the middle of this ecstasy-filled trip called “cheering for a good hockey team” but questions still loom about the Philadelphia Flyers. And with the NHL trade deadline quickly approaching on March 8, the team will need to make some decisions as to who will be on this team for the foreseeable future.

Are the Flyers going to stick to their idea of a full rebuild, and trade some key pieces away? If they are doing this, will they do it at the trade deadline, or wait until the summer? If they decide to pivot to a quasi retooling, who will stay and who will go?

There are countless questions about the future of this team and what its management will decide. And one name that has recently come to light as someone they might end up keeping, is defenseman Nick Seeler.

As reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Flyers are aiming to get Seeler “done” and sign him to a brand new contract, to keep him with the team beyond just this season. Most likely, the team will have the player put pen to paper before the March 8 trade deadline, to make the long-term plans on the blue line a little bit more clear.

If this happens, it might cause a big debate between the two camps of Flyers fans who want to just watch a good team as soon as possible, and those who want to see some long-term, full teardown type of rebuild. Alas, we should probably look at both sides of this gritty coin.
