The case for and against trading Morgan Frost

It feels like we have this conversation every year.

Morgan Frost’s name is once again making appearances on “players to watch” trade lists, most recently coming in at number 20 on TSN’s annual Trade Bait board.

Frost’s situation was a lot less murky back in October. John Tortorella slotted the 24-year-old forward into the lineup just three times out of nine total opportunities. It appeared likely that he’d soon be on his way out, though the Flyers were doing an awful job showcasing him if that was the plan.

November and December weren’t much better. Still receiving the occasional trip to the press box, it took Frost until November 11th to net his first goal. He would start the new year with just 11 points in 26 games, a 35 point pace over a full season.
