The Two O’Clock Number

100.00 — the shooting percentage of Dave Gardner as a member of the Flyers. He’s the only player in team history to have a perfect shooting percentage with the team.

Of course, this means nothing. He played just two games in orange and black during the 1979-80 season and scored one goal on his only shot. He also had an assist. Point per game player here, ladies and gentlemen.

Both of those points came in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on March 4, 1980. The next game, two days later against the New York Islanders, turned out to be his last in the NHL. Gardner played 18 games the following season with the Binghamton Dusters of the AHL before playing in Switzerland for a few years and retiring.
