Tuesday Morning Fly By: Living amongst the zebras

It’s been another “fun” day of the NHL offseason (notice how fun is in quotes there, implying that the Flyers missing the playoffs is not, in fact, fun). Here are some links to pass the time.

Flyers News

*Among the multitude of defenders that have been named as reputed targets for Chuck Fletcher and co. this offseason, Matt Dumba is arguably the most interesting and risky. How exactly does he fit? (BSH)

*With the Flyers increasingly associated with Buffalo star Jack Eichel’s name in rumors, comments are coming out about the Sabres’ asking price for a trade. Apparently it’s pretty absurd. (Philly Hockey Now)

*Continuing BSH’s community draft board, Maddie took a look at arguably the highest upside player in the 2021 Entry Draft. Swedish goalie Jesper Wallstedt is a potential gem and looks like a franchise talent, much like Jaroslav Askarov of the 2020 class. (BSH)

*The Orange & Black owe their fans a lot of things, but they can start by picking a better goal song. “Feel The Shake” is lame. (BSH)

*Philly legend Reggie Leach went on Sportsnet’s “Lead Off” radio show to discuss Indigenous People’s Day and what it means to him. (Sportsnet)

Around The League

*NHL fans have been subjected to some… questionable officiating in this postseason. Absolutely nobody is shocked. (The Hockey News)

*The Islanders have sold out their first batch of season tickets for their new arena in Belmont. That’s excellent news for the NHL as it transitions to ESPN for a new TV deal, but not so great when considering that the Flyers will have yet another tough road environment in the division. (The Hockey News)

*People decided to say some nasty things on Twitter after Robin Lehner was announced as Vegas’s starter for Game 4. The veteran netminder kept those comments in the back of his mind and played with a chip on his shoulder en route to a win. (ESPN)
