BSH Radio reacts following a 5-3 loss in Washington

Coming out of the All-Star break to a national television Rivalry Night game against the top seed in the Metropolitan division, the Philadelphia Flyers looked to pick up where they left off, having won 16 of 23 prior to the second five-day stoppage in three weeks. Philly jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a beautifully executed two-on-one play from Wayne Simmonds to Nolan Patrick, and Travis Konecny extending his goal scoring streak to five games, all in the first 7:50 of game time.

The rest of the way, the team’s lack of depth showed in this road effort. Brandon Manning and Valtteri Filppula highlighted the team’s ineffective bottom half of the roster, which also allowed two power play goals on the Washington Capitals’ three opportunities.

Check out the BSH Radio Facebook Live postgame video for immediate reaction to the loss in D.C., and thoughts on what the team needs to do to keep its head above water in this tight playoff race.
