Michal Neuvirth might be hurt again

Oh, man, folks, has there been one heck of a Friday news dump.

Well, not so much a news dump. A possibility dump? Some speculation? Whatever you want to call, it the fact remains that Michal Neuvirth might have just gotten hurt in morning skate. You can read the tweet from Bill Meltzer from the rink below.

So, that is a thing, indeed. And, of course, we haven’t gotten any kind of official confirmation from the Flyers with a note on the injury (if it is a true injury) and a timeline for return (if he is going to miss any time), but based on his reaction, I think we can rightfully be a little concerned about the situation.

So, where does this leave us? Are we ready to jump in and start weighing options for his replacement? Alex Lyon is out for four weeks with an LBI. Is a (relatively) fresh off IR Anthony Stolarz the next backup? Would they go crazy and give Carter Hart a chance? Would they even consider bringing someone else in? There are a lot of moving pieces, here, but the best we can say is we have to wait until we know it’s something serious before making it into something serious. Take this information and do whatever amount of panicking you see as appropriate, at the present juncture.

As always, we’ll keep you updated with news as it comes to us.
