Monday Morning Fly By: Dave, could we not

*So it only took two games for the Flyers to have a real clunker, and this one was, in part, thanks to Dave Hakstol and his obsession with mediocre players. He swapped Gudas for Folin and the results were…not good. Here’s what we learned. [BSH]

*To make matters worse, James van Riemsdyk left the game with a lower body injury after taking a puck to the knee. Here’s hoping it isn’t as bad as it looked. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Also, what the hell was that goalie interference call? Nice to see that the NHL still hasn’t figured that out. [NBC Sports Philly]

*It wasn’t all bad though. Mikhail Vorobyev scored his first NHL goal and it was kind of a hilarious comedy of errors. [Yahoo Sports]

*Over the weekend, Calvin Pickard officially joined the team, and Anthony Stolarz was waived and sent back to Allentown. [BSH]

*We’ve got a cool new series debuting this season, in which we look back at a cool moment in Flyers’ history against each team we face. [BSH]

*The Flyers might have been bad over the weekend, but the Phantoms opened their season Saturday night with a fantastic win, Carter Hart’s first as a pro. [Philly.com]

*Speaking of the Phantoms, this might be the year we see a new and improved Nicolas Aube-Kubel. [BSH]

*The Flyers need Travis Sanheim to be good. He needs to be better. Here’s hoping Dave puts him in a position to succeed. [NBC Sports Philly]

*And finally, have you guys checked out our newest podcast offering, Ice Sport Radio? We talk about the whole league, dive into what other teams are up to, and we’re pretty proud of it. Hopefully you like it too! [BSH]
